Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging media lessons to students
  • Create a stimulating and interactive learning environment
  • Assess and evaluate student progress
  • Provide constructive feedback to students
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Media Studies or related field

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Media Studies or related field

Experience:

Previous experience teaching media studies at the secondary or post-secondary level

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of media theory and practise
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate students
  • Organisational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Media Studies or Education
  • Experience using multimedia technology in teaching

Working Conditions:

The Media Teacher will work in a school setting, following the academic calendar and schedule. The role may involve some extracurricular activities and occasional evening events.
