Protocol Education are seeking a Maths Teacher/Instructor to join a specialist provision in Southend.
The students have SEMH and assiociated complex needs between the ages of 11-16 years. This role is dedicated to those who want to inspire student’s with SEMH, many whom have come from distressed and toxic backgrounds.
The right candidate will need to be confident with de-escalation strategies, robust and know how to build strong rapports and manage challenging behaviours.

Job Duties:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Maths lessons to Secondary School students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support as needed
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of students
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure student well-being and academic success
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities
Required Qualifications:
- Specialist knowledge in Maths at Secondary level
- Experience working with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years teaching experience at Secondary School level
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Maths
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective classroom management techniques

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
