Part-Time PRU Maths Teacher Needed, Eastbourne

We are working with a school in Eastbourne who are seeking a resilient and dedicated Maths Teacher to work at a specialized institution for excluded students. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting the learning and development of students who face educational challenges. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective maths lessons tailored to the individual needs of each student. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting a safe and supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality maths lessons to secondary students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess, record, and report on the progress and attainment of students.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, and other colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students and foster a love for maths.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching maths at the secondary level.
  • Strong understanding of the educational challenges faced by students in a pupil referral unit.
  • Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for working with students facing educational challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
