Maths Academic Mentor

Hounslow

Mainstream secondary community school students aged 11-16years

 

You will have sessions with 1:3 students and will have a full timetable in school supporting Year 7-11 in Maths within small groups. These focused groups allow individualised targets and guidance.  These pupils are reviewed half-termly to allow as many students as possible to have access to high quality support in literacy and numeracy.

.The successful candidate will hold a degree & have tutoring experience OR confident to deliver maths interventions

Roles & responsibilities includes:

  • delivering tailored programmes which complement ongoing class work, learning objectives and assessment plans along with the class teacher
  • work 1-1 or in small groups  with students who are falling behind academically to ensure they achieve in upcoming exams
  • adapt the content, style, format of the tuition to ensure the most effective results are achieved
  • build strong relationships with pupils and school contacts through session delivery, review meetings, tuition progress reports and feedback

Successful candidates will:

Have great subject knowledge and the ability to plan and communicate it effectively in 1:1 or small group settings.

Be flexible and committed to delivering engaging, challenging, and developmental sessions over the course

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
