About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA), Teaching Assistant (TA), or SEND Support to join our team at a large SEND school in Walsall. In this role, you will work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing essential support to help them achieve their academic potential. You will assist in the classroom under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO, offering tailored support to meet individual learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEND.
  • Assist with planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons.
  • Support students in developing social and emotional skills.
  • Help implement and monitor individual education plans (IEPs) or personal care plans.
  • Promote an inclusive learning environment by assisting students with their learning activities.
  • Assist with classroom management and provide general support to the teacher.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and patient approach to working with students.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or SEND training) is an advantage, but not required.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of individual students.
