Are you passionate about making a difference in a child’s life? We’re on the lookout for a caring and committed Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Colchester. In this role, you’ll work one-to-one with a child with additional Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored, one-on-one support to a child with SEN, adapting learning materials and activities to suit their unique needs.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and SEN coordinators to implement personalized learning plans.
- Foster the child’s confidence, independence, and social skills by offering emotional and practical support.
- Assist with classroom tasks and ensure the child feels included in group activities.
- Monitor and record progress, sharing updates with staff and parents to support the child’s development.
- Help create a positive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children with SEN is a big plus!
- A friendly, patient, and empathetic nature, with excellent communication skills.
- A proactive attitude, with the ability to handle challenges and think on your feet.
- Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the child and the school environment.
- ️ An understanding of safeguarding practices (training available if needed).
Requirements:
- ✅ A valid, up-to-date DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are beneficial but not essential.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
