Learning Support Assistant – South Tyneside
Location: A welcoming secondary school in a well-connected area of South Tyneside
Contract: Initially 4 weeks (Starting March)

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a friendly and supportive secondary school in a well-connected area of South Tyneside on an initial four-week basis from March. This role involves working one-to-one with students with a range of SEND, supporting them within the classroom to access the curriculum and providing essential emotional and pastoral support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with SEND, helping them engage with learning.
- Assist in adapting classroom materials to meet students' needs.
- Support students' emotional well-being, building confidence and positive relationships.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Offer pastoral support to help students develop social and communication skills.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEND.
- A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to supporting student development.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A willingness to adapt and be flexible in a classroom setting.
- A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
