Learning Support Assistants Needed - Newcastle

Your Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for providing one-to-one and small group support for students, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students in accessing the curriculum and achieving their academic goals.
- Assisting with personalised learning plans and adapting resources to meet the needs of individual students.
- Encouraging students to build confidence in their abilities and fostering a love for learning.
- Providing emotional and behavioural support to students when necessary, ensuring a positive and safe environment.
- Assisting teachers with the delivery of lessons and supporting classroom management.
- Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to both teachers and parents where appropriate.
What We’re Looking For:
- A compassionate and patient individual who is dedicated to supporting students with additional needs.
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A flexible, adaptable approach to working with diverse learners.
- An understanding of SEN strategies and techniques is beneficial, but training will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
