We are looking for a caring and motivated 1:1 Support Assistant to join our school in Harrow. In this role, you will provide tailored support to a student with specific needs, helping them to engage fully in school life and make progress in their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with an individual student to provide dedicated support that addresses their unique learning, emotional, and social needs.
- Assist with academic tasks, adapting materials and instructions as needed to support the student’s progress.
- Foster a positive and supportive relationship, promoting confidence, independence, and inclusion.
- Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCo, and other professionals to ensure consistent and effective support.
- Monitor and document the student’s progress, providing feedback to the relevant staff.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar 1:1 support role or working with children with special educational needs (SEND) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and compassionate approach.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to the student’s evolving needs.
- A genuine commitment to supporting the well-being and development of children with additional needs.
