Learning Support Assistant

Do you have experience working in a classroom, and do you enjoy supporting young people to reach their full potential?

We are working on behalf of an esteemed school in South Shields to offer you the opportunity to support and encourage children and young people in their educational development.

THE CANDIDATE

-          Have, or are willing to work towards a level 3 diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching in Schools.

-          Previous experience working in a classroom environment

-          Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team

-          Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

-          Passionate about supporting children with various abilities in a positive education environment

-          Can demonstrate problem-solving skills when facing challenging situations

-          Must have, or be willing to, undergo an enhanced DBS check

-          Committed to ensuring the safeguarding of young people

THE ROLE

-          Creating a safe, positive learning environment

-          Creating personalised teaching approaches, with 1:1 and group learning opportunities

-          Maintaining student progress records

-          Completing administration tasks to support the smooth running of the college

-          Working alongside colleagues to provide additional educational support in the classroom

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
