We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at a nurturing primary school in Chigwell.
Role Overview:
As a 1:1 SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will provide personalized support to a child with specific learning needs, aiding their educational and personal development. This is a vital role where you can make a substantial impact on a child's educational experience within a supportive and dynamic school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored support to a SEND child, addressing their unique needs.
- Assist with classroom activities to ensure the child’s full engagement and participation.
- Implement and adapt educational plans in collaboration with teachers and SEN coordinators.
- Track the child’s progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Support the child with any personal care needs, if required.
- Encourage social interaction and involvement in school activities.
Requirements:
- Prior experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable.
- A patient, nurturing, and empathetic approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the child and school.
- Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are advantageous.
- A valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
