EYFS or Year 1 Learning Support Assistant 

We are excited to be working with a primary school in Burgess Hill who are looking for a full-time learning support assistant for either EYFS or Year 1. It is a vibrant and nurturing one-form entry primary school dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for their students. They are seeking someone to join their enthusiastic and committed staff team.

Location: Burgess Hill

Salary: £12.90 - £14.00 an hour (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Full-time

Job Description:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the classroom teacher and enhancing the learning experience for our youngest students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of engaging and age-appropriate activities.
  • Supporting individual students or small groups to reinforce learning and promote development.
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assisting with classroom management and maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
  • Providing support for students with special educational needs (SEN) and adapting activities to meet their individual needs.
  • Supporting students' social and emotional development.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • A passion for working with young children and a commitment to their development.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting, preferably within Early Years or Key Stage 1.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
