Job Description:
Job Duties:
- Provide support to students with learning difficulties or disabilities in a classroom setting
- Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for students
- Help students develop their social and life skills
- Support the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and managing student behaviour
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
Required Qualifications:
- Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning in schools
- Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Education:
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning in schools
Experience:
- Prior experience working with students with SEND
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency in British Sign Language
- Experience with Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
- Strong behaviour management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional training in specific learning difficulties or disabilities
- First Aid certification
Working Conditions:
- Work in a school setting under the direction of the classroom teacher
- May involve some physical activity and lifting of equipment
- Regular interaction with students, teachers, and parents
