Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons for Key Stage 2 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Assess students' abilities and create individualised learning plans
  • Implement strategies to support students with SEN in their academic and social development
  • Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive learning environment
  • Regularly communicate with parents and caregivers regarding students' progress
  • Maintain accurate records of students' achievements and challenges

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialist knowledge and experience in teaching Key Stage 2 students with SEN
  • Understanding of SEN Code of Practise and relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching Key Stage 2 students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of different learning styles and SEN teaching strategies
  • Ability to adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN
  • Strong classroom management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs
  • Training in specific SEN interventions and techniques

Working Conditions:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
