Your Role: A Day to Make a Difference

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of empowering students with complex needs, including autism (ASD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and challenging behaviour. Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

  • Creative Engagement: Use innovative strategies to motivate and inspire progress, ensuring every child feels included and valued.
  • Behavioural Support: Keep the environment calm and safe with expert de-escalation techniques and a positive attitude.
  • Holistic Care: Offer dignified personal care when needed, always with empathy and respect.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to create a supportive, consistent learning experience.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Whether you’re an experienced pro or just starting out, here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Experience or Passion for SEND: Prior experience with ASD, SLD, PMLD, or challenging behaviour is a plus—but a strong desire to learn and grow is just as valuable.
  • Resilience & Flexibility: A positive, adaptable approach to handle the unique challenges and rewards of each day.
  • Great Communication Skills: Build trust and rapport with students, families, and colleagues alike.
  • Knowledge of SEN Practices: Familiarity with EYFS, KS1, or other relevant strategies is a bonus, but training is provided!

Your Qualifications & Skills

Here’s what will help you stand out:

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
  • Solid English and Mathematics skills.
  • Experience with personal care or manual handling (training available for newcomers).

Why You’ll Love Working Here

We don’t just support students—we support you, too! Here’s what’s waiting for you:

  • Extended Summer Break: 6 glorious weeks off to recharge and relax.
  • Professional Development: Access ongoing CPD opportunities to advance your skills and career.
  • Cutting-Edge Tools: Work in a modern, well-equipped environment designed to enhance learning.
  • Weekly Pay: Competitive, reliable PAYE pay because your dedication deserves recognition.
