IT Technician – Newcastle: NE6
Are you an experienced IT Technician with a passion for supporting education? We are seeking a proactive and skilled IT Technician to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Newcastle. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support across the school, ensuring all IT systems, hardware, and software are functioning effectively.
- Support staff and students with technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to teaching and learning.
- Manage the school’s IT network, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Assist with the setup and configuration of new hardware and software for classrooms and administrative areas.
- Ensure the security and integrity of the school’s IT systems, including data protection and compliance with safeguarding protocols.
- Provide support for various school-wide IT initiatives and projects, including e-learning platforms and interactive technology.
- Maintain and update inventory records of IT equipment and resources.
- Assist with the management and support of the school’s website and online communication tools.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as an IT Technician, ideally within an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of IT systems, networking, hardware, and software management.
- A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to undergo a DBS check through Protocol Education.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Excellent communication skills to assist both staff and students with IT-related problems.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- A proactive attitude, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the IT field.
