Protocol Education is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated History Teacher to join a forward-thinking Secondary School in London. This is a full-time position beginning in January 2025. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the UK History Curriculum across Key Stages 3 to 5, as well as the ability to deliver inspiring, high-quality lessons to students of all abilities.
The successful candidate will be passionate about History, dedicated to student achievement, and skilled at engaging students in both historical theory and practical inquiry. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the development of students’ historical understanding, preparing them for their GCSEs and A-Levels, and contributing to the ongoing success of the department.
Your Role
- Deliver high-quality History lessons to students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with the possibility of Key Stage 5).
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, resources, and activities that cater to the needs of all students.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging student participation and achievement.
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, setting targets for improvement.
- Contribute to departmental meetings and school-wide initiatives.
- Support students’ personal and academic development through pastoral care and mentorship.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in History or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching History at Secondary School level.
- Strong knowledge of the UK History Curriculum, including key topics such as British, European, and World History.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students of varying abilities.
- A commitment to continuous professional development.
- An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to undertake one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
