Job Title: History Teacher

Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons in History to students.
  • Develop and implement engaging teaching strategies to meet the educational needs of students.
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the History curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through involvement in extracurricular activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Degree in History or a related field.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum for History.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in History or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching History at secondary school level.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of historical events and concepts.
  • Effective classroom management skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Proficient in using educational technology in teaching.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education.
  • Experience teaching History up to A-Level standard.

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily takes place in a classroom setting.
  • May require participation in school events outside of regular hours.
  • Interaction with students, parents, and colleagues on a daily basis.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
