Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Sutton
At Protocol Education we are looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teacbing Assistant to join an outstanding and vibrant school in the heart of Sutton. The successful candidate will have experience in supporting teaching and learning, particularly in covering classes, and will be instrumental in creating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment for our students. This role requires a proactive, confident individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to take on responsibility for managing and delivering lessons. You will be expected to cover lessons when teachers are absent, following detailed plans and ensuring that students continue their learning in a safe, structured environment.

Job Duties:
- Supporting the teacher in planning and delivering lessons
- Assisting with classroom management and student behaviour
- Providing one-on-one support to students who require additional help
- Preparing materials and resources for lessons
- Assessing and recording student progress
- Supervising students during break times and outings
- Communicating with parents and carers regarding student progress
Required Qualifications:
- Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
- Enhanced DBS check
- Previous experience working in a classroom setting
Education:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Experience:
- Experience working with children in an educational setting
Knowledge and Skills:
- Good understanding of the National Curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- First Aid certification
- Additional specialised training in areas such as SEN support
Working Conditions:
- Working hours typically follow the school day schedule
- May require occasional evening or weekend work for school events
- Work is primarily conducted in a classroom setting
- Regular interaction with students, teachers, and parents
