We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our inclusive and dynamic primary school in Newcastle / North Tyneside. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about education and ready to take on a more advanced role supporting both teachers and students across various year groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in the planning and delivery of engaging lessons across a range of subjects, and lead classes independently when required.
- Provide tailored support to individual students and small groups, particularly those with additional learning needs or requiring extra academic assistance.
- Help develop and implement differentiated learning materials and interventions to ensure all students can access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
- Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to track student progress and provide detailed feedback on their achievements and areas for development.
- Assist in classroom management, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Contribute to the planning and organization of school activities, events, and trips as required.
Requirements:
- HLTA qualification or significant experience working in a similar role within a school setting.
- Proven experience supporting students in a primary school environment, with the ability to lead whole classes confidently.
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and ability to assist in lesson planning and delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning, with a commitment to supporting student development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
