Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Position: HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant)
Location: Wakefield and surrounding areas
Contract: Supply/Temporary
Salary: Competitive daily rates, based on experience and qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver lessons and cover classes in the absence of the teacher, following school planning.
- Support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and those for whom English is an additional language (EAL).
- Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging and differentiated learning activities.
- Provide targeted intervention sessions and support small groups to help raise attainment.
- Collaborate with teachers to assess students' progress and provide feedback.
- Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Take on specific responsibilities such as mentoring students, leading after-school clubs, or coordinating specific areas of the curriculum.
Requirements:
- Relevant HLTA qualification or equivalent.
- Proven experience working as a HLTA or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of the primary and/or secondary curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in various schools and educational settings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
