We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to provide support for our KS3 and KS4 curriculum, specifically for students with SEN. In collaboration with the SENCO, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and deliver structured executive functioning and organizational programs, anxiety/anger management initiatives, therapy strategies reinforcement, and Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language programs. Prior experience in supporting students with autism or high levels of anxiety is crucial for this role.

Successful Candidates Will:

Collaborate with the SENCO, ARC Manager, and Pastoral Manager to enhance the achievement of specific student groups

Coordinate an additional nurture course for students requiring more support than Level 5 TAs

Assist teachers in delivering the KS3 and KS4 in-class curriculum to students with SEN

Ensure effective communication between Learning & Inclusion, ARC, and other stakeholders

Serve as the lead TA for up to 6 students

Model best practices from the EEF guidance "Making Best Use of Teaching Assistants" for the TA team and teachers

Provide support to students individually or in small groups

Assist with healthcare, first aid, and personal needs as required

Take on general responsibilities within the ARC/Learning & Inclusion team

Qualifications:

 

Recent experience working with secondary school students and prior experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role

Prior experience working with autistic students exhibiting high levels of anxiety

Demonstrated energy and enthusiasm

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
