A well-regarded primary school in Harrow is seeking a dedicated HLTA to support pupils and teachers in delivering high-quality education. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role in the classroom and support young learners’ growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver planned lessons and lead classroom activities in the absence of the teacher.
- Provide targeted support for pupils, including small group interventions and one-to-one sessions.
- Collaborate with teachers to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning activities.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to lesson planning.
- Support the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils, ensuring inclusivity and engagement.
- Mentor and guide teaching assistants to maintain a cohesive and effective support team.
Requirements:
- HLTA qualification (or equivalent) with proven experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Confidence in managing classrooms and leading lessons independently.
- A positive, proactive, and flexible attitude with a commitment to fostering pupil success.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
