Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Geography lessons to students
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress through assignments and exams
  • Provide feedback to students and parents on academic performance
  • Create a stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and teaching strategies

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography or a related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Geography or related field

Experience:

  • Proven experience teaching Geography at secondary school level
  • Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Geography concepts and theories
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage and inspire students in the subject
  • Organisational and time-management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education
  • Experience using technology in the classroom

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with regular school hours
  • Work in a classroom setting with students aged 11-16
  • Potential for extracurricular involvement such as field trips and parent meetings
