Job Duties:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging geography lessons to students
- Assess and evaluate students' progress through assignments, tests, and examinations
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their learning and development
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance and performance
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to curriculum delivery
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree in Geography or a related field
- Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum
Experience:
Previous experience teaching geography in a secondary school setting is desirable
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of geographical concepts and principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create engaging and stimulating learning environments
- Effective classroom management techniques
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with a Geography specialism
- Experience using technology in the classroom
Working Conditions:
The role involves working in a school environment, following the school term calendar. Full-time hours are expected, with additional responsibilities such as parent meetings and extracurricular activities.
