Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging geography lessons to students
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress through assignments and examinations
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to support their learning and development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive learning environment
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Geography or related field
  • Experience teaching geography at the secondary level
  • Strong classroom management skills

Education:

Degree in Geography or related field

Experience:

Previous experience teaching geography at the secondary level

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate students
  • Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for Geography
  • Strong organisational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with Geography specialisation
  • Experience with using technology in the classroom

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a school setting, following school hours and term dates. The teacher may need to participate in extracurricular activities and school events.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
