Job Description: Geography Teacher

Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging geography lessons to students.
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress through assignments and examinations.
  • Create a supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and success.
  • Develop and implement curriculum plans in line with educational guidelines.
  • Provide feedback to students, parents, and colleagues on student performance and progress.
  • Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Geography.
  • Degree in Geography or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for Geography.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching Geography.
  • Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Proficient in using technology in the classroom.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of teaching methodologies and best practises in Geography education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education or Geography.
  • Experience teaching Geography at the secondary school level.
  • Experience in leading field trips and extracurricular activities related to Geography.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a school environment with standard hours.
  • Potential requirement to work evenings or weekends for school events.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to support student learning.
  • Adhere to school policies and procedures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
