Job Title: Forest School Lead Outdoor Teacher SEND School
Location: East of England, Essex, Basildon
Salary: £20,000 - £32,000 per annum
Job Duties:
- Lead outdoor educational activities at the Forest School for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive outdoor learning sessions
- Create a safe and supportive environment for students to develop social, emotional, and physical skills
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to support students' individual learning needs
- Assess and monitor student progress and provide feedback to support their development
- Maintain accurate records of student participation and achievements
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Forest School Leader qualification
- Experience working with students with SEND
- Knowledge of outdoor education principles and practises
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Experience in leading outdoor education programmes
- Understanding of SEND educational requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional training in outdoor learning or environmental education
- Experience in developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs)
- First Aid certification
Working Conditions:
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Collaborate with a diverse range of students, staff, and parents
- Follow school policies and procedures for safeguarding and health & safety

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
