Position: Food Technology Teacher

Full Time 8:30 - 3:30

Start Date: September 2024.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Food Technology Teacher to join our school starting in September 2024. The candidate will have to be passionate about food education and capable of inspiring students to develop their culinary skills and knowledge of nutrition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that covers a range of cooking techniques, nutrition, and food science.
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages all students to participate and excel.
  • Organize and oversee extracurricular activities related to food technology, such as cooking clubs or competitions.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to in the classroom and during practical lessons.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to support students' learning and development.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Culinary Arts, Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification (QTS/PGCE or equivalent).
  • Proven experience teaching Food Technology at primary or secondary school level.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, nutrition, and food science.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development.

Requirements:

  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Has or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to education and personal growth.
