Job Title: English Intervention Support Tutor

Location: Newcastle
Contract: Full-time (5 days per week)

Are you passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve success in English? We are seeking a dedicated English Intervention Support Tutor in Newcastle to provide targeted support for small groups of students preparing for their GCSE English exams.

Role Overview:

  • Provide focused intervention support to small groups of 6-15 students, helping them develop key English skills.
  • Work with GCSE beginner-level students, including those who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL).
  • Offer learning support to ensure students stay on track with their studies and progress towards their academic goals.
  • Create an engaging, supportive learning environment that fosters confidence and improvement.
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to adapt strategies for individual student needs.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience supporting students in GCSE English (tutoring, classroom assistance, or intervention work).
A strong grasp of English language skills, with the ability to break down key concepts effectively.
Experience working with EAL learners or students with diverse learning needs.
A patient and encouraging approach, with the ability to motivate and inspire progress.
The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
