Role Overview:
As an English Teacher you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality English education to our students. Your responsibilities will include planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, providing personalized support, and contributing to the overall academic environment. This position is ideal for someone passionate about English and education, looking to make a tangible impact on students' academic journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and Deliver Lessons: Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to a range of abilities and learning styles. Ensure lessons are aligned with the curriculum and educational standards.
- Assess and Monitor Student Progress: Design and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Provide Personalized Support: Identify students who need extra help and provide one-on-one or small group support. Tailor teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
- Prepare Teaching Materials: Create and organize resources such as worksheets, presentations, and interactive activities to enhance learning.
- Classroom Management: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect, participation, and a love for learning. Implement effective classroom management strategies.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Work with other teachers and staff to improve the English curriculum and share best practices. Participate in department meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Engage with Parents and Guardians: Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and any concerns. Attend parent-teacher conferences as needed.
- Extracurricular Activities: Support and participate in extracurricular activities, such as literature clubs, writing competitions, and school events, to further students' interest and engagement in English.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A degree in English or a related field.
- Teaching Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) are required.
- Experience: Previous teaching experience is preferred, with a proven track record of effective teaching and student progress.
- Passion for Education: A genuine passion for English literature, language, and a commitment to inspiring and supporting students.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
- Continuous Learning: Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with educational best practices
Requirements:
- The right to work in the UK.
- Has or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
- Demonstrated commitment to education and personal growth.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
