English Teacher for Secondary Aged Students

Protocol Education are working with an alterntive provison who aim to both encourage and empower students to develop skills necessary to pursue post 16 opportunities and give a lifelong love of learning.

The education setting focuses on developing the “whole student,” by teaching and reinforcing academic, personal and the social skills needed to achieve success and move onto productive citizenship.

They cater for young people who struggle in mainstream environments whether they have been permanently excluded or at risk of exclusion, those without a school place and those who are disengaged or at risk of becoming NEET.

Job Duties:

  • Teach English to secondary aged students
  • Implement creative teaching methods
  • Manage student behaviour effectively
  • Provide individualised support to students
  • Contribute to the development of academic, personal, and social skills

Required Qualifications:

  • PGCE
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Education:

Qualified Teacher with PGCE and QTS

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a secondary school setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Creativity in teaching methods
  • Ability to work with students with diverse needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in special educational needs (SEN)
  • Experience working in alternative provision settings

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time contract position with an immediate start. The role involves working with secondary aged students in an alternative provision setting in Nottinghamshire.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
