✨ About the Role ✨
As an English and Media Teacher, you will have the opportunity to teach engaging lessons in both English Literature and Language as well as Media Studies. You will encourage students to explore classic literature, creative writing, and the impact of media in the modern world. With a focus on critical thinking and creativity, your lessons will foster a love for language while developing essential skills for the future.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering high-quality English and Media lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
Planning and delivering engaging lessons that develop students' literacy, creativity, and analytical skills
Introducing students to the world of media, from film studies to the role of social media in today’s society
Providing constructive feedback and assessments to track student progress and support their academic growth
Encouraging critical analysis and exploration of literature and media, helping students develop strong communication and writing skills
About You
We are looking for an English and Media teacher who:
Has a passion for both English and Media Studies and loves sharing that passion with students
Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a relevant degree in English, Media Studies, or a related field
Has experience teaching English and Media at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (ideal, but not essential)
Is creative, dynamic, and able to make lessons engaging and relevant to students
Has excellent communication skills and a commitment to helping students develop both academically and personally
Is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all students can thrive
