Protocol Education is seeking an Emotional and Behavioural Mentor for a rewarding role at an SEMH school in Havering, where you’ll support students in building the social and emotional skills they need to thrive.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Empower Students – Provide one-on-one and small group mentoring, guiding students with emotional and behavioural difficulties to effectively manage their emotions.
  • Teach Social & Emotional Skills – Facilitate sessions focused on developing social awareness, resilience, and healthy coping mechanisms.
  • Collaborate on Individualised Plans – Work alongside teachers and specialists to create personalized plans that address each student’s unique needs and goals.
  • Track Progress and Build Connections – Monitor student growth and communicate regularly with parents and caregivers, fostering strong support networks.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Relevant Qualifications/Experience – Background in counselling, social work, psychology, or a related field, with hands-on experience supporting children and young people with SEMH needs.
  • ️ Expertise in Behavioural Management – Knowledge of SEMH strategies and experience managing challenging behaviour in a supportive, effective manner.
  • ️ Strong Communicator & Team Player – Ability to engage and connect with students, colleagues, and caregivers, working both independently and as part of a dedicated team.
