About the Role:

As an Education Welfare Officer, you'll play a crucial role in promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing Support: Offer guidance and support to students and their families to improve attendance and address any barriers to learning.
  • Case Management: Manage cases involving attendance issues, safeguarding concerns, and other welfare-related matters.
  • Liaising: Work closely with schools, local authorities, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to student welfare.
  • Implementing Policies: Help develop and implement strategies and policies that enhance student wellbeing and academic success.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a welfare or support role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, families, and professionals.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of safeguarding procedures and educational policies.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in social work, education, or a related field are desirable.
  • DBS Check: You must have an enhanced DBS check or be willing to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
