Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and passionate Drama Teacher to join our dedicated team of educators. The successful candidate will have a genuine enthusiasm for teaching drama to secondary school students and a commitment to fostering their artistic growth and development.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and innovative drama lessons that inspire and challenge students.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore their creativity and express themselves.
- Develop and implement curriculum plans that align with the National Curriculum and the school's educational objectives.
- Direct and oversee student productions, guiding students through the rehearsal process and ensuring high-quality performances.
- Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate drama across the curriculum and participate in school-wide events and productions.
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in drama education and actively participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Drama, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Previous experience teaching drama at the secondary school level, with a proven track record of student success.
- Deep knowledge of drama pedagogy, theatre history, and dramatic literature.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
- Creativity, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
- Experience directing student productions is highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
