✨Creative/Theatrical/Artistic Learning Support Assistant✨

Protocol Education are looking to recruit a Learning support assistant of creative background, to support in a SEND school. This is designed to allow for a sense of creativity in the classroom which can help inspire and encourage SEND students.

The children you will be supporting have a variety of special needs, including ASD, Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs (SEMH), complex learning disabilities or may need behavioural support.

You will be required to aid in the daily activities of the classroom and use your creative background to uniquely support the SEND children in a way only you can. You will provide 1:1 support and create a positive atmosphere. A friendly and positive approach to teaching and learning, as well as the ability to quickly build strong relationships and rapport with individual children is important.

The ideal candidate will have-

  • Experience working with SEND/ Experience working with Children
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for education and creating an environment in which the students can improve their studies.
  • The ability to use your creative nature to engage students, improve confidence, and positively influence a fun and supportive learning process.

The role-

  • Supervise pupils with SEND, ensuring their safety and ability to access learning activities and understand the information presented
  • Aid the execution of education plans suitable to each pupils’ learning objectives.
  • Build a trusting relationship with all pupils and communicate according to their understanding.
  • Promote class interaction and ensure pupils engage throughout the lessons.
  • Create an interesting environment for students.
  • Assist pupils with practical activities using a variety of teaching aids.
  • Look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare.

Your experience does not necessarily need to be in a school environment, but rather working or volunteering in youth groups, sports coaching, or after school clubs to name a few.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
