Job Duties:

  • Supervising students in the absence of their regular teacher
  • Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive learning environment
  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and ensuring students stay on task
  • Providing support to students in their learning activities
  • Reporting back on student behaviour and progress to the appropriate teacher

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Previous experience working with children or young people
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Experience:

Previous experience working with children or young people

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of classroom management techniques
  • Ability to engage and motivate students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching Assistant qualification
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

This role involves working within a school environment, following the school's policies and procedures. It may require standing for extended periods and dealing with challenging behaviour from students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
