Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools in Northumberland
Are you looking for a flexible and rewarding role in education? Protocol Education is recruiting enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Northumberland. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who wants to gain valuable classroom experience while supporting students’ learning in the absence of their regular teachers.
Your Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will take charge of the classroom when the teacher is absent. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising students to ensure they remain focused on their work.
- Following the lesson plan provided by the teacher and helping students understand the tasks.
- Maintaining good behaviour and a positive atmosphere in the classroom.
- Providing additional support to students who may require help with their tasks.
- Reporting back to the teacher about student behaviour, engagement, and progress.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage with students.
- A proactive, reliable, and confident individual.
- Previous experience in a school environment is desirable, but not essential.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to follow lesson plans.
- A passion for education and working with young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
