Cover Supervisor
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £85 - £110 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Temporary, with Potential for Long-Term Placement
About the Role:
Protocol Education is seeking reliable and confident Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools in Newcastle. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning for students in the absence of their regular teacher. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in a classroom setting and is well-suited for recent graduates, aspiring teachers, or those with previous experience in youth support roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes during teacher absences, following lesson plans and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Manage student behavior and ensure classroom order
- Support students with their learning, answering questions, and providing guidance where needed
- Follow school policies and ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard
- Provide feedback to teachers on any issues or achievements within the class
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people (preferred but not essential)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain control
- A proactive and flexible approach to working in different schools and environments
- Degree or relevant qualification in education (preferred but not essential)
