Job Title: Secondary School Cover Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Secondary School Cover Supervisor to join our team and support secondary education across Bath and NE Somerset. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team and have a passion for education.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher. This will involve managing the behaviour of students, ensuring that they are working on pre-set tasks and ensuring that the classroom environment is conducive to learning. You will also be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons to students across a range of subjects.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Manage the behaviour of students, ensuring they are engaged in their work
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects
  • Ensure that the classroom environment is conducive to learning
  • Support students with their learning and help to create a positive learning environment
  • Mark and assess work where necessary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant subject area - Desirable but not essential
  • Experience working with secondary school students in any field.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Passion for education and a commitment to supporting student learning
  • Ability to deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects
  • Ability to manage behaviour and create a positive learning environment

No teaching qualifications are required to carry out this role. Experience, good attitude and a desire to help students is what is most important!
