A cover supervisor is required to work in a Washington school from September 2024. This is a full time role. The successful cover supervisor will be required to work from September until July 2024.

This inclusive and diverse, Washington Secondary school is located a short drive from the surrounding areas of Sunderland. Once appointed as a cover supervisor you will work in school in which behaviour has been noted as good in its most recent OFSTED. High expectations of pupils are enforced across the school.

As a cover supervisor you will:

- Supervise and manage classrooms in the absence of the regular teacher
- Follow lesson plans and ensure that students are engaged in meaningful learning activities
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Provide support to students with special education needs
- Assist students with their assignments and provide guidance when necessary
- Foster a safe and respectful classroom environment
- Manage student behaviour and implement disciplinary measures when necessary
- Collaborate with other staff members to support student development

Previous experience of working as a cover supervisor is not necessary. The role might be suitable for graduates with an interest in teaching, individuals with previous experience of working with children or those from performing arts backgrounds.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
