Classroom Supervisor

Protocol Education is working with Swindon based based Secondary Schools to appoint new Classroom Cover Supervisors. This is a perfect role if you want to work with young people, but do not have the qualifications to be a teacher. If you are considering teaching as a career, this will give you vital classroom leadership experience. Also, this role is perfect for experiecned Teachers, who want to take a step away from the full Teaching requirments, but remain working within education.

 

Start Date - January 6th 2025

Contract Type - Both full and part time applications accepted

Closing Date - Friday 22nd November

 

The Role

To manage and support classes during teacher absence where work has been set by a qualified teacher and can be carried out independently by pupils.

You are not expected to be an expert on all subjects, just to have the ability to handle a class and be a friendly, confident and trusting individual.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

● To maintain a constructive learning environment
● To supervise pupils, ensuring they work on task
● To support pupils, where appropriate, offering advice and guidance to pupils of all ages and abilities in order that their work is of a high standard
● To maintain behaviour and discipline of pupils in line with school policies
● To work with appropriate senior staff to ensure that school policies are adhered to
● To report back to teachers setting work or their line manager
● To carry out various duties within subject departments when cover not required, i.e. worksheet preparation and admin tasks

Ideal Requirments:

● A passion for working with young people and supporting their educational journey.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

● Previous experience working in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.

● Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

● Flexibility to adapt to different subjects and year groups.

● Resilience and the ability to maintain composure in challenging situations.
