About the Role:
Protocol Education is seeking dedicated and adaptable Behaviour Support Assistants to join our team, working within a vibrant 11-18 secondary school in Newcastle upon Tyne. In this role, you will provide essential support to students exhibiting challenging behaviours and, when necessary, lead lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, fulfilling the role of a Cover Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:

Individualized Support: Work one-on-one with students to implement effective behaviour management strategies, supporting their emotional and social development.

Group Interventions: Assist in delivering group sessions aimed at promoting positive behaviour and social skills among students.

Classroom Management: Lead lessons during teacher absences, ensuring a positive learning environment and adherence to the established curriculum.

Collaboration: Work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Plans.
Requirements:

Availability: Must be available Monday to Friday during term time.

Experience: Backgrounds in education, youth work, coaching, or related fields are highly valued.

Skills: Strong communication, empathy, and the ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.

Adaptability: Willingness to lead classes and manage groups in the teacher's absence.
