Job Description: Behaviour Support Assistant

Job Duties:
- Supporting students with challenging behaviour in an educational setting
- Implementing behaviour management strategies as directed by senior staff
- Assisting in the development and implementation of individual behaviour plans
- Providing one-to-one support to students with behavioural difficulties
- Collaborating with teachers and parents to address behavioural issues effectively
Required Qualifications:
- GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications)
- Previous experience working with children or young adults with behavioural challenges
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
Education:
Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications)
Experience:
Previous experience working with children or young adults with behavioural challenges
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of behaviour management strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Strong problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
- Training in de-escalation techniques
Working Conditions:
- Typical school hours with occasional flexibility required
- Working directly with students in classroom and other educational settings
- Potential exposure to challenging behaviour and conflict situations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
