Job Description: As a Behaviour Specialist Assistant, you will work closely with our students to provide tailored support and guidance in managing their behaviour. You will collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other professionals to develop and implement behaviour intervention plans that promote positive outcomes. Your role will be instrumental in creating a safe and nurturing environment where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed.

 

Start Date - September 2024

Hours - 08.30 - 15.30

Employment Types - Both full and part time roles available.

Location - Salisbury and other surrounding areas within Wiltshire

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Deal with situations calmly and sensitively
  • Be creative and ‘think outside of the box’ in their approach to supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Have strong abilities to develop strong and trusting relationships
  • Be a team player and able to work closely with other staff members and third parties
  • Care deeply about pupils academic, emotional, and personal development and have empathy for their individual circumstances 
  • Have a supportive and encouraging attitude, to inspire trust and to motivate students
  • Be able to use their initiative in meeting the needs of the student, depending on their individual communication, and learning skills
  • Have a proven track record of working with young people or vulnerable adults, either on a paid or voluntary basis
  • Have basic IT skills/ understanding

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school or educational setting
  • Strong understanding of behavioral management techniques and strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting students with behavioural challenges
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Relevant qualifications or training in behavior management or special education (desirable)
