Behaviour Support Full Time September 2024

Protocol Education are recruiting for a Behaviour Support position, at a Secondary School in the Bradford area, as part of their Behaviour and Pastoral team for the KS3 students.

What is the role?

You will work as part of the Behaviour and Pastoral team to provide support for students with SEN and SEMH needs who may find it difficult or be reluctant to engage in education. This will include offering them support with integrating in mainstream classes and deescalating challenging behaviours, using behaviour management and restorative techniques. You will build rapport with students and create positive relationships which influence them to regulate their behaviour. You will work closely with the students and other members of staff and professionals to implement personalised methods of learning. It is vital that you can offer a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students.

The ideal candidate:

  • Holds a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young people
  • Has experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Support Worker with students with SEN and SEMH
  • Understanding of specific learning difficulties such as ADHD and ASD
  • Familiarity with individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies and the ability to monitor progress and provide feedback to the SENCO and teaching staff
  • Has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Has a creative and ‘outside-the-box’ mentality when facilitating learning
  • Holds or is prepared to apply for an enhanced DBS

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
