Autism Support Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and capable Autism Support Worker to join our esteemed school in South Shields. This full-time role is available throughout the academic year, providing stability for students with complex needs on the Autistic spectrum.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with autism in both group and one-on-one settings
  • Assist with classwork as needed
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies
  • Assist students with their daily routines
  • Collaborate with the team to develop Education Healthcare Plans (ECHP)

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an Autism Teaching Assistant or Support Worker (preferred but not required)
  • A positive and encouraging attitude
  • Experience in behaviour management
