Protocol Education are currently working with an OFSTED rated 'Outstanding' mainstream primary school in Manor Park who are looking for SEN assistants to join their ARP in September 2024.

This is a mainstream school but your role will be based in the schools ARP. This class consists of 15-20 children with additional needs who have a different needs including ASD, MLD, Global delay, etc.

You will have the support of a class teacher and a large team of SEN assistants.

This class does not follow the mainstream curriculum and works to a far more creative and free flowing curriculum with a focus on learning through interaction.

Your role will be varied, working with different children on a daily basis, tailoring your approach to ensure every child receives impactful support.

No prior experience is neccessary as we are looking for people who are pro-active, can use their initiative and have a natural aptitude for building rapport with children.

You will be invested in heavily from day 1 and can expect regular on the job training and whole school staff CPD.

Job Duties:

  • Supporting the lead teacher in delivering lessons and activities
  • Assisting with classroom management and student supervision
  • Providing one-on-one support to students with learning difficulties
  • Preparing and organising educational materials
  • Assessing student performance and providing feedback

Working Conditions:

  • Working hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
  • Classroom-based role with potential for outdoor activities
  • May involve standing for long periods and occasional lifting of educational materials
  • Working in schools local to Newham

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
