Job Duties:

The Attendance Mentor will be responsible for monitoring and improving student attendance rates within schools in the Bristol region. Duties include conducting home visits, developing strategies to address attendance issues, liaising with parents and school staff, and maintaining accurate records of attendance data.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an educational setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education:

A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Social Work, Psychology)

Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably working with young people in an educational or social care setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to attendance in schools
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 4 qualification in a relevant field
  • Training in restorative practises or conflict resolution

Working Conditions:

The Attendance Mentor will primarily work within school settings, with occasional home visits required. The role may involve some evening or weekend work to accommodate parent meetings or school events. Travel within the Bristol region is expected.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
